About the opportunity

As our Distribution Trainer, you will lead proactive capability uplift across Insurance Distribution by diagnosing performance gaps and designing targeted learning and capability solutions that drive measurable adviser performance outcomes.
Working closely with the Distribution Training Manager and key stakeholders, you will ensure learning is aligned to key business priorities, accessible for learners, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
You’ll play a key role in shaping a modern, performance-focused learning environment that supports both internal teams and external financial advisers to deliver high-quality advice and achieve strong business outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
Lead capability uplift by identifying performance gaps and delivering targeted learning, coaching and development solutions.
Design and deliver engaging, performance-focused learning that drives real on-the-job behaviour change.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective capability initiatives.
Ensure all training meets regulatory requirements and is supported by accurate, audit-ready documentation.
Continuously improve learning programmes using data, feedback and best-practice L&D approaches.
What We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a capable and confident learning professional who can combine strong facilitation with strategic capability thinking.
Experience in learning and development, capability, training or coaching roles.
Experience designing and delivering blended learning (face-to-face, digital and coaching).
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and capability development.
Strong facilitation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience using digital learning tools and learning management systems (LMS).
Experience in financial services or insurance is beneficial but not essential.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in learning and development or capability roles.
Qualification in Learning & Development, Adult Education, HR or Organisational Development, and/or
NZQA Adult Tertiary Teaching or Training qualification (Level 5 or equivalent), and/or
Instructional design or learning design certification, and/or
Coaching qualification or equivalent experience.
Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services (or equivalent) is beneficial.
